Sunday: 12:00 — 17:00

The Kiko Kostadinov Los Angeles store marks the brand’s first retail location in North America and the second retail space designed in collaboration with American artist Ryan Trecartin. Following the inaugural store in Tokyo, the Los Angeles location continues an evolving approach to retail as a constructed environment, where architecture, fashion, and spectatorship become part of the same spatial experience.

The store develops elements first introduced in Tokyo, including the use of domestic shingles as an interior architectural material, while introducing a distinctly Los Angeles vocabulary. Bleacher-style niches are integrated into the architecture as stepped spaces for display, transforming the act of viewing garments into a form of observation and participation. Turfed carpet extends across the interior as a reference to outdoor environments, bringing the surface language of recreational and communal spaces indoors and further collapsing the boundary between interior and exterior.

These gestures establish a space that feels simultaneously domestic, public, and theatrical. Familiar architectural cues are displaced from their expected contexts and recombined into an environment that operates somewhere between a retail interior and a set. In this sense, the Los Angeles store continues Trecartin and Kiko Kostadinov’s ongoing exploration of retail as a space of version-hood, where the environment is not simply a backdrop for the collection but an active framework through which it is encountered.
